2ND GEN ORAL HISTORY

The Second Generation Oral History Project aims to highlight and celebrate the stories of Vietnamese American youth, focusing on their unique experiences with ethnicity, language, and cultural conflict as they navigate their identities in a multicultural landscape. Through engaging personal narratives, this project sheds light on the challenges, triumphs, and resilience of individuals born between 1995 and 2005 in the Bay Area, capturing their perspectives on growing up in a diverse society.

To date, we have published a compelling collection of stories that resonate with many, and we are actively recording more interviews to broaden our reach. These oral history interviews will not only be featured on ICAN’s website but are also permanently archived at San Francisco State University, ensuring that these voices are preserved for future generations.
