Oral History of Justin Vo

 

Justin Vo is a Vietnamese American activist. He was born and raised in San Jose, California. A graduate of San Jose State University, he joined the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) and looked for civic engagement projects. This led him to end up working with the Vietnamese American Roundtable. He is NorCal UVSA External VP and LNY:SJ Executive Director.

He talks about his life in San Jose, his relationship with his family and community, and his Vietnamese-American identity. He discusses what it means to be a Vietnamese American activist, as well as the hardships that come with it. He addresses his identity, community, the Vietnamese language, and cultural problems.
